Seller Guide
Registering a store
- Log in with any account (any 10-digit phone; OTP shows on screen).
- Go to /seller — the "Become a QuickKart Seller" page. Enter a Store name (e.g. "Sharma Fresh Foods") and an optional GST number, then press Apply Now.
- Your store starts as pending — you'll see "Application under review" until an admin approves it from their Sellers page. (Want to skip the wait? Log in as the demo seller 8888888888 — a pre-approved store with a product.)
Once approved, /seller becomes your Seller Hub with four sections: Dashboard, My Products, Submit Product, and Sales Report.
Submitting a product
Open ➕ Submit Product. The form takes the product name, brand, category, a description, and the first variant: unit label, selling price (₹), optional MRP (₹) and stock. Press Submit for Review — the product enters the admin approval queue and goes live in the storefront the moment it's approved.
What makes a good listing:
- A clear, specific name — customers find products through typo-tolerant search over name, brand and description, so include the words shoppers type ("Whole Wheat Bread", not "WWB Special").
- An honest description: what it is, quantity context, why to buy it. This is also what the admin reads when deciding to approve.
- A precise unit label ("500 g", "1 L", "Pack of 6") — it appears on the card, in the cart and on receipts.
- Set MRP above your selling price and the storefront automatically shows the strikethrough MRP and a "% OFF" badge.
- No images needed — artwork is generated automatically from the product name.
Variants and editing
- After creating a product, open it from My Products → Edit to add more pack sizes in the Variants table: unit, price, MRP, stock, then + Add. Update stock or prices any time with the per-row Save.
- Editing product details sends it back to review — the button literally says "Save (goes back to review)". The product leaves the storefront until re-approved, so batch your edits rather than saving repeatedly.
- If a product is rejected, My Products shows the status chip with the admin's reason underneath. Fix what's named, save, and it re-enters the queue.
Reading your sales report
💰 Sales Report (/seller/sales) totals your units sold and gross revenue, then breaks both down per product and variant. Revenue is quantity × the price at the time each order was placed, and cancelled orders are excluded. The Dashboard mirrors the headline numbers alongside your listing counts (live / awaiting approval / rejected).
Why is my product hidden?
| Cause | How you see it | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Awaiting approval | Status chip: pending | Wait for the admin; new submissions and every edit queue for review. |
| Rejected | Status chip: rejected, with the reason below | Address the stated reason, save, and it resubmits automatically. |
| Marked inactive | An admin used the Hidden toggle on the product | Contact the store admin — only they can re-activate it. |
| Store not approved / suspended | Your whole hub shows a waiting or suspended notice | None of your products sell until the store is (re-)approved. |
| Out of stock | Card still appears but shows "Out of Stock" instead of ADD | Raise the variant's stock number in the Variants table. |
